Saturday, May 19, the Waterworks Visual Arts Center will begin its Summer Exhibition "With a Discerning Eye: From Realism to Abstraction". This exhibition explores the boundaries between the artist's uses of elements of design to express their thoughts. Featured artists will be Scott Burdick and Susan Lyon both of King, NC. There will also be a special solo exhibition from this year's Dare to Imagine Award winner, Courtney Quaintance. The opening reception for these artists will be held on Friday, June 1. Informal gallery talks with exhibiting artists will begin at 5pm followed by the opening reception from 6-8pm. This is free and open to the public.
