Carolina Baroque

Carolina Baroque was organized by Dale Higbee in 1988 for the purpose of performing music of the Baroque period (c. 1600-1750) on instruments familiar to Monteverdi, Purcell, Buxtehude, Vivaldi, Telemann, J. S. Bach, and Handel during this Golden Age of Music. Since then we have performed in many cities in North Carolina, as well as in South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia.

Description: The picturesque campus offers a variety of options for meetings, conventions and even sporting events. Seating 154, The Tom Smith Auditorium features nearby teaching rooms, which are available for classroom groups of 20 to 50. The campus is also home to Keppel Auditorium, seating 1500, and Hedrick Little Theatre, which seats 250. Between the two theatres, the Crystal Lounge will accommodate up to 225 for receptions, dining or lectures, with catering facilities available. Founded in 1995, Center for Faith & the Arts set out to be a regional center, to provide a functioning organization for relating faith to the high arts in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, eastern Tennessee, and northern Georgia. Serving that area remains the major mission of the Center even though the area has expanded a bit as the Center has become better known.
The essence of all the Center’s activities is dialogue, engaging people in serious consideration and discussion of things that matter. The Center offers a wide variety of arts programs (architecture, cinema, dance, drama, fine art, literature, music, photography, and sculpture).
