North Carolina Parks, High Rock Lake, Nature Preserves & More
Salisbury-Rowan County offers an ample selection of choices for some of North Carolina’s best outdoor recreation. The Yadkin River Trail is one of North Carolina’s favorite canoe and kayaking paths and connects to High Rock Lake. High Rock and Tucker Town Lakes provide excellent fishing and boating opportunities. Don’t worry if you don’t have a boat, boating supplies and rentals are available at Tamarac Marina.
Eagle’s Nest and Dunn’s Mountain Nature Preserves offer beautiful hiking, eco-exploration and bird watching prospects. Salisbury-Rowan County has a total of 24 North Carolina parks, featuring a variety of playgrounds, walking trails, bicycle routes and paths, as well as a Disc Golf course
The North Carolina Quarter Midget Speedway has a busy weekend racing season April through November. There is plenty of opportunity for personal athletic activities, e.g. biking, fitness, golf, swimming and boating or fishing year-around in Salisbury-Rowan County.
In the Yadkin Valley Wine Region you can also experience the North Carolina outdoors through a culinary excursion to the Old Stone Vineyard and Winery.
Bicycling Rowan County

Stop by the Rowan County Convention & Visitors Bureau and pick up the Bicycling Rowan County Map that details the bicycle route system with five numbered routes and a system of unsigned connectors. This 226-mile system links cities, towns, points of interest and recreational areas via the more lightly traveled roads favored by local bicyclists. This is a great way to explore Rowan County.

Seating 154, The Tom Smith Auditorium features nearby teaching rooms, which are available for classroom groups of 20 to 50. The campus is also home to Keppel Auditorium, seating 1500, and Hedrick Little Theatre, which seats 250. Between the two theatres, the Crystal Lounge will accommodate up to 225 for receptions, dining or lectures, with catering facilities available. Dunn's Mountain Park
