Hall House 200th Celebration:
Celebrate the Hall House's bicentennial with a special theatrical presentation and dinner on the Hall House lawn. Author Jennifer Hubbard and director Claudia Galup present "The Memory House," a play exploring 200 years of history at the Hall House, from female academy to house museum and the Hall family's stewardship in between! Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres served prior to the play and dinner to follow. May 1, 2020
Jiggy with the Piggy Festival:
Jiggy with the Piggy returns with the smells and tastes of barbeque and fun for the entire family. Kannapolis will host more than 70 barbeque competition teams. The BBQ teams are from across the U.S. and will compete for top bragging rights and prize money. This is one of the largest sanctioned events by the Kansas City Barbeque Society. The signature free concert Friday night will be Grammy Nominated and Multi-Platinum Artist Sammy Kershaw. The festival, which has earned the recognition of being a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society, will have more than 100 arts & crafts vendors, concerts, a 5K walk/run, fireworks and a People’s Choice wings and pork tasting competition. Berries & Blooms Weekend Festivals at Patterson Farm: Strawberry season has arrived and Patterson Farm is celebrating with their weekend festivals. Each weekend has a different theme and is filled with activities and fun for the entire family.
May 2-3, 9-10, 16-17, 23-25 and 30-31, 2020
Brew & Moo (Spring Edition) at Patterson Farm: In addition to Patterson Farm's regular Berries and Bloom Weekend activities, local breweries and wineries will be onsite with their beer and wine selections available for purchase. Downtown Salisbury’s two breweries, New Sarum Brewing Co. and Morgan Ridge Railwalk Brewery, will be there along with Cauble Creek Vineyard of Salisbury and Morgan Ridge Vineyard of Gold Hill. Foodies will love food trucks which will also be onsite serving up delicious locally sourced items.

Cheerwine Festival: The City of Salisbury and Cheerwine, the iconic family-owned soft drink that has called the city home for 103 years, are teaming up to host the fourth annual Cheerwine Festival in downtown Salisbury, N.C. Cheerwine fans once again will have an opportunity to enjoy ice-cold Cheerwine, live musical entertainment, great Southern food, shopping for Cheerwine merchandise, family-friendly activities, a beer garden and local craft vendors.

Historic Spencer Shops Train Show: The Historic Spencer Shops Train Show will feature all sorts of railroad memorabilia, model trains, and much more for sale. Held in the Back Shop, the show is under cover, moderately climate controlled, and a great event for collectors. The museum will also be offering special train rides, tours and children’s activities.

Annual Group Gold Hill Bike Ride: Group Gold Hill and Gold Hill Historic Preservation Society is hosting its 20th Annual Group Gold Hill Bike Ride. This event will offer cyclists 25, 50 or 100 kilometer routes that will take them through the scenic, low traffic country roads of Rowan, Stanly and Cabarrus counties. $25 registration includes pre-ride pastries and coffee, marked route, aid stations, sag wagon (if needed) and post-ride lunch.
