Waterworks Winter Exhibition Beyond the Surface (through January 28): Beyond the Surface, Waterworks' Fall/Winter exhibition, includes three autonomous exhibits by four North Carolina artists: Sacred Spaces 360, featuring photographic works by Will James; It's in the Genes: A Mother and Daughter Show, featuring works by Phyllis Steimal and her daughter Beth Barger, and The Weight of All That Is, featuring works by Liz McKay.

 

Frozen Jr. presented by Peidmont Players Theatre (3-5, 10-12 & 17-19): Based on the hit Academy Award-winning Disney film and Broadway musical, Frozen Jr. brings the magical world of Arendelle to Salisbury. This journey of two sisters will melt the coldest of hearts and be sure to put a smile on your face. Featuring music from the film and new songs from the Broadway stage production.

 

The Great American Trailer Park Musical presented by Lee Street Theatre (Saturdays through December 4): There’s a new tenant at Armadillo Acres—and she’s wreaking havoc all over Florida’s most exclusive trailer park. When Pippi, the stripper on the run, comes between the Dr. Phil–loving, agoraphobic Jeannie and her tollbooth collector husband—the storms begin to brew.

 

The Nutcracker (December 18-19): This enchanting production takes the stage for the 19th year! This annual holiday favorite is a story about a little girl, Clara, and her magical journey to a land of sweets that all begins with a gift from her Godfather Drosselmeyer. Join the Salisbury Symphony and the Piedmont School of Music and Dance for this exciting ballet by Tchaikovsky.

 

The Polar Express Train Ride (through December 23): Inspired by the hit movie, this holiday favorite comes to life as you and your family take a magical trip on The Polar Express Train Ride! Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, families are sure to enjoy their trip to the North Pole, complete with hot chocolate and cookies served on board the train. Upon arrival at the North Pole, passengers deboard to watch Santa present the first gift of Christmas.
