Don’t let Valentine’s Day sneak up on you! Surprise the one you love with a romantic weekend getaway to Rowan County. We’ve got plenty of original ways to show that special someone how much you love them.
Don’t know where to start? We’ve done the ground work for you. All you have to do is choose which romantic weekend your sweetheart will enjoy the most!
1. Gold Hill Getaway
Gold Hill is bringing the goods this Valentine’s Day. We’ve planned the perfect weekend in the quiet countryside. Start the weekend off by checking in to the Morgan Ridge Cottage located in the Historic Village of Gold Hill. Take time to relax before heading to a Valentine's Day dinner at Morgan Ridge Vineyards. After a refreshing night’s sleep, enjoy brunch at Morgan Ridge Vineyards before the shops at the Village at Gold Hill. Gold Hill may be known for gold mining, but this Valentine’s Day, it’s going to be known for love.
*Reservations recommended at Morgan Ridge Vineyards
2. Wine & Dine in Spencer
Take your love on the Wine & Dine Valentine’s Day Train Ride at the North Carolina Transportation Museum. Cocktail hour, a three-course meal and wine accompany a leisurely train ride throughout the 60-acre museum campus. Once the train has returned to the station, you’ll be able to make your way to one of our favorite Rowan County hotels. After a night of R&R, grab brunch at one of Downtown Salisbury’s Sweet Meadow Café or Morgan Ridge Railwalk Brewery & Eatery.
NC Transportation Museums Wine & Dine Valentine’s Day Train Ride will be held February 14 & 15.
3. A Night on the Town in Downtown Salisbury
If a night on the town is what your love needs, Downtown Salisbury can help you out. Enjoy conversation over dinner in downtown, then catch one Piedmont Players Theatre’s new youth theatre shows, Stuart Little or Romeo & Juliet. After the show, explore more restaurants, bars and breweries in Downtown Salisbury. Be sure to get plenty of shut eye at one of our remarkable Downtown Salisbury bed and breakfasts.
Stuart Little will be on stage January 31, February 1 & February 7-8.
Romeo and Juliet will be on stage February 21-22 & 28-29.
