The annual Festival of Trees showcases a collection of beautifully decorated Christmas trees and is a wonderful kick-off to the Christmas season.

Hosted by the Fulton Heights Neighborhood Association, homes and businesses in this charming historic neighborhood are decorated for the season and open for tours for a nominal donation. Visitors can make their donation at any of the sites on the tour. Each tour site will have brochures available with information on participating locations. Houses and businesses will be marked with red yard signs. Come back after this weekend to drive through and enjoy the lights with a hot cocoa or coffee from local coffee shop Mean Mug.

For over 50 years, the Kannapolis Christmas Parade of Lights has been a must see in the community. It is a beautiful night time parade held in Downtown Kannapolis at 6 p.m.

Christmas in the Village is a wonderful weekend celebrating the old-fashioned Christmas traditions from the good ol' days. Gold won't be the only thing shining bright, lights and holiday decor fill the town with Christmas cheer. Visit with Santa and enjoy complimentary light refreshments while visiting the shops. There will be hayrides, marshmallow roasting, live music, and free photo ops with Santa! Shops are open 11am - 8pm Friday and Saturday and 12:30 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Downtown China Grove
Join in the Christmas cheer with sledding, hot chocolate, s'mores and snacks on Swink Street in China Grove. Santa, horse drawn carriage rides and other activities will take place on Main Street. Bring your own plastic sled, no metal sleds allowed. Sledding and wagon rides are free with a small charge for food and drinks. Christmas in the Grove is from 5-9 p.m.

Experience a Christmas like our Rowan County ancestors would have known 200 years ago. Tours of the historic house and the enhancement of a colonial family’s Christmas celebration in Rowan County will highlight the weekend. Guides in period costumes will be on site, and guests will enjoy learning about customs and participating in crafts, musket firing, woodworking (benches, bowls & spoons), weaving, candle making, open fire cooking with lots of samples, music, children’s games, goats & chickens and much more.

Celebrate the Christmas spirit all month long in Kannapolis with the Celebration of Lights. The Celebration of Lights boasts more than 250,000 lights and takes place at Village Park nightly at 6:00PM. Walk through the park and enjoy the many light displays or ride the Winterland Express and see if you can find all 12 Days of Christmas. After a train ride, kids of all ages can meet Santa in his studio each night. Closed December 24 and 25.
