Rowan County is excited to be a part of the Three Rivers Land Trust's Virtual Outdoor Challenge! Choose when, where and how you participate as the TRLT community unites from afar to celebrate their love for the outdoors!

We challenge you to cover as many miles as possible in Rowan County and beyond during the month of November. You can choose to walk, hike, run, kayak, canoe, raft, or bike outdoors! To get started, follow Three Rivers Land Trust on Facebook, and visit their event page on runsignup.com to register for the Outdoor Challenge. Entrants will compete for fun prizes in categories like fastest time, most interesting nature find, cutest companion, most adventurous challenger and more. You even get to compete with other counties in their 15-county footprint for most active county – so grab your friends and work together to claim the bragging rights for Rowan County!

Registration starts at $35.00, family and youth discounts are available. Your registration fee includes a Three Rivers Land Trust membership and TRLT-branded neck gaiter.

Once you sign up, log every outdoor activity (by foot, by bike, or by paddle) you complete between November 1 and November 27 on the runsignup website to vie for the top spot of total miles covered. Be sure to check out the Rowan County sponsored trek to explore High Rock Lake, Eagle Point Nature Preserve and Dan Nicholas Park.
