Ivan Urlaub, Executive Director of NC Sustainable Energy Association, discusses how North Carolina policy benefited the solar industry historically and outlines its future in the state.

As NCSEA's Executive Director, Ivan Urlaub leads collaborative and innovative approaches to unlock member and partner opportunities in energy policy, business model, and market development. His systemic and incremental strategic vision guides and aligns the organization with the needs of consumers, the clean energy industry, utilities, and government.


Urlaub is the founder of the NC Clean Energy Business Alliance, serves on the Three Zeros Advisory Board at UNC-Chapel Hill, is an original lab team member of RMI’s national Electricity Innovations Laboratory (e-Lab), and has been recognized most recently by the Charlotte Business Journal as a 2015 Energy Leader for North Carolina. He holds both a Master of Public Policy and a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University.


Urlaub’s speech is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in Room 300 of the Center for the Environment. The presentation is free and open to the public but registration is required.
