The Winterland Express train runs every evening from November 20 through December 30 (closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day). The train will run from 6-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 6-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Ride the train through Village Park, enjoy more than 250,000 lights, make s'mores and more.
Admission to the park and viewing of the lights is free; tickets to ride the train and carousel are $2 per person, per ride.
This year, Winterland Express riders will need to make a reservation and pay in advance to ride. The reservation process allows the City to accommodate as many people as possible per train ride—as safely as possible. Social distancing and masks are required.
Kids of all ages can visit and take photos with Santa in his studio each night. However, children will not be able to sit on Santa’s lap (we do not want him to be sick and unable to visit on Christmas Eve).
The park will also feature performances from our very own Kannapolis Singing Bears, who will entertain your family with a Christmas Carol performance.
On various nights local community groups and musicians will perform your favorite Christmas songs. Children will also have an opportunity to create ornaments and engage in the children's zone.
